Long before humanity recorded its first histories, powerful beings existed alongside dragons and humans. Neither gods nor mortals, the Keepers served as caretakers of balance. While dragons protected the physical world, the Keepers watched over the deeper forces connected to Resonance.
Protectors of Portals
Ancient portals connected Earth to other realms and dimensions. The Keepers became guardians of many of these gateways, ensuring that dangerous forces could not move freely between worlds.
Keepers of Knowledge
While human civilizations rose and fell, the Keepers preserved knowledge about the Resonance Key, ancient hatcheries, dragon history, and portal locations.
The Long Watch
When dragons chose to leave Earth, the Keepers assisted them. Together they created hidden hatcheries, protective enchantments, portal safeguards, and trials for future Guardians. For centuries, they remained in the shadows, watching and waiting.
