Long before kingdoms rose and fell, before the modern world existed, and before dragons became legends, there was a period of history known as The Age of Dragons. During this era, dragons lived openly among humanity. Forests stretched across entire continents, mountains remained untouched by industry, and the balance between nature and civilization was carefully maintained.
The First Bond
Ancient records tell of a time when humans and dragons first learned to communicate. Dragons were never beasts to be tamed. They were intelligent beings with cultures, traditions, and histories of their own. The earliest Dragon Guardians were chosen because they were trustworthy, not because they were powerful. A dragon's bond could never be forced. It had to be freely given.
The Discovery of Resonance
During the Age of Dragons, scholars, dragons, and Keepers sought to understand the mysterious force connecting all living things. This force became known as Resonance. It flowed through dragons, humans, animals, plants, rivers, mountains, and the world itself. The Keepers believed Resonance was the heartbeat of creation.
The Resonance Key
As knowledge grew, dragons and Keepers realized that Resonance required balance. Too much power concentrated in one place could threaten the world itself. To help maintain stability, they created the Resonance Key, one of the greatest achievements of the Age of Dragons.
Legacy
Though the Age of Dragons ended centuries ago, its influence remains everywhere. Ancient ruins still stand. Hidden hatcheries still wait. The Resonance Key endures. The Keepers continue their watch. And the promise made by the dragons has never been forgotten.
