The Forgotten Hatcheries
The dragons' final gift to humanity and the future return plan for dragonkind.
← Back to World GuideThe Dragons' Final Gift
When dragons chose to leave Earth during the late Middle Ages, they knew their departure could not be permanent. Despite humanity's betrayal, many dragons still believed that one day the world would need them again. Together with Dragon Guardians and Keepers, they created the Forgotten Hatcheries.
A Promise Across Centuries
The hatcheries were never intended to be simple nurseries. They were designed to preserve the future of dragonkind. Within these hidden sanctuaries rested dragon eggs selected from the great dragon clans, each carrying the potential to restore the ancient bond.
Construction of the Hatcheries
Ancient Resonance magic was woven into every structure. Powerful protections concealed them from discovery. Some were hidden beneath mountains, forests, canyons, islands, and ancient ruins. Some were placed near important Resonance pathways or portal sanctuaries.
The Sleeping Eggs
The eggs entered a state of magical dormancy. Though centuries passed, they remained alive, waiting and responding to subtle changes in the world.
The Awakening
Fifty years after the Great Shattering, Resonance stirred. Hidden pathways reopened. Ancient safeguards activated. For the first time in centuries, dragon eggs began to awaken.
